Just like the name suggest, it’s a beach located in a small town called Tanjung Benoa and with distance just less than 7 kilometers away from ITDC Nusa Dua Resort Area. In case you don’t know, ITDC Nusa Dua is often referred as center of elite hospitality area in Bali and that place has been thoroughly covered by me in previous post, just click the link above to check it out. Also there exist Tanjung Benoa neighboring village called Tengkulung and both villages coastline were merged together which formed a lively beach famous for it’s water sport. The length of Tanjung Benoa Beach is approximately around 2 km which make it slightly smaller than Nusa Dua Beach.
Most likely the first impression you might get after just arrived on Tanjung Benoa Beach is, it will kind of remind you about sea harbor. The main reason probably because there are so many boats ported on here such as : passenger boat, cruiser ship, fishing boat and sometimes you can even see few container ships and giant tanker passing by. Then there also another factor at play, Tanjung Benoa Beach is located quite close with Benoa Port / Harbor. It is sandwiched between Bali Mandara Tol and Serangan Island, you can enter this port from northern Mandara Tol near Pesanggaran.

In entertainment aspect as you can see previously in text above, the most popular attraction in Tanjung Benoa Beach is definitely no other than water sport. The variety of recreational water sports you can play in this beach are numerous, just small examples : snorkeling, parasailing, banana boat, flyboarding, jet ski and many other more to choose. In my opinion Tanjung Benoa Beach is definitely among the best for anyone who really into water sport activities, since any kinds of water sports you ever want are most likely available in here.
Shop or corporation that lend equipment and offering water sport service are literary exist almost everywhere across the shoreline, they compete fairly with each other to offer the best price and experience for their customers. Tanjung Benoa Beach also have relatively tame sea water movement which make it quite safe for swimming, as long as the swimmer is within the limit of safety line. But be wary of moving boats or jet ski though, because those water vehicles are moving at high speed and gonna be dangerous if it hit beach swimmer.

Afterward the guest might already done with playing all the water sports available but there a chance that they still want more. So another thing the guest can do is to visit nearby island by sea sailing and that island is called Nusa Penida which fall under the jurisdiction of Klungkung Regency. You can embark on an adventure to Nusa Penida just by renting a single boat from Tanjung Benoa Beach. During sunset or afternoon time, all kinds of water sports should be stopped by now and then will resume again at tomorrow morning. During this quiet period, the beach is always visited by local people for fishing. To catch wild seafoods most people often prefer to do it either with foraging, hunting or trapping method. And then later at home, all fresh seafoods they got usually cooked for family foods consumption but some people opted to sale it in traditional market.
Honestly in my opinion, some areas in Tanjung Benoa Beach are not well maintained and badly in need of major cleaning, this bad condition probably due to extensive water sports activities that build up over the years. But there no need to worry since most areas in this beach are not that bad, some are actually clean enough and definitely won’t ruin your leisure at all. One last thing that I need to mention is, there exist small resting places called Bale Bengong which built on few spots across the shore. This Bale Bengong is mainly used for sitting and also as visitors resting place after they finished doing their long period of beach walking or water sporting. By sitting & chilling out in this place you can enjoy the soothing sea breeze and full view of beach scenery around here.

The above picture is view of Tanjung Benoa Beach during morning time around northern area. Notice small silhouette of Bale Bengong on left side of the picture, that is a resting place often used by beach visitors for sitting and relaxing. Also notice a fisherman in the middle holding his fishing rod and red tool bags, most likely he will go to the fishing boat.

Moving few hundred meters to the south, there another Bale Bengong built on the southern part of Tanjung Benoa Beach. Also water sport activities in this area are much fewer, as you can see from picture above just only two boats docked on the shore. If you prefer beach with quieter ambience then here could be a right place for you.

Not just water sports, it’s also possible to rent a horse in here. But I think it will be little bit difficult for first timer to skillfully riding a horse right away. For anyone who want to quickly learn horse riding, mentors is always ready to help although with little extra fees of course.

If you ask what the most popular water sport in Tanjung Benoa Beach, the answer is definitely no other than Parasailing. Based on my observations so far, Parasailing is the most sought after by customers. Perhaps the thrill of flying high in the air will pump your adrenaline really hard and people seem to love that feeling.

Here is Tanjung Benoa Beach low tide period during early morning and local people usually use this moment to hunt many kinds of wild seafoods through foraging. But remember that low tide only last for six hours so everyone must do the foraging real quick, here are some names of wild seafoods that you can catch in here : crab, squid, oyster, shellfish and many more.

This bridge was built long time ago for docking large passenger ships like ferries and cruiser ship, later the bridge will let passengers able to walk safely into land. But if there no ships passing by, people will use this bridge as fishing spot. Over time this place somehow gradually transformed into one of the most favorite fishing spot in Tanjung Benoa Beach. Also notice Mount Agung silhouette behind the bridge, that mount is titled as the biggest active volcanic mount in Bali. Most recent eruptions of Mount Agung were peaked around the end of 2017, then followed with several minor eruptions that last until 2019.

Noon time is the busiest of the day, boats engine noises are flaring everywhere with people coming in and out of the water very often. Hot sun at noon is shining brightly which raise beach air temperature to maximum, so if you don’t want to get any sunburn on your skin be sure to wear some sunscreen.
